Info

RuCTFE is an annual online international challenge in information security. It was held for 3 times already: 2011, 2010 and 2009.

The contest is driven by classic rules. Each team gets a virtual machine image containing the set of vulnerable services. Once in a while the jury fills services with private information — the flags. The goal of each team is to find vulnerabilities, fix them on their server and exploit them in order to get flags from other teams. Please refer to the rules page and Wikipedia article for slightly more info.

RuCTFE 2012 starts November 24, 2012 at 15:00 UTC and will last for 8 hours. The registration is open from October 22 to the start of the competition. We provide 150 registration slots. For now we have 147 registered teams divided in 3 initial groups. Groups assignment can be reached on Participants page.

Developers and Sponsors

RuCTFE is organized and developed by team HackerDom of Ural Federal University. We have put our best people into development of RuCTFE 2012, provided them with warm and cozy development environment, pizza from BlackPizzaHut and cola from NukeCola, and also offered money prizes for the winners.

Not less important is the contribution of our two constant partners — SKB Kontur, who generously offered money prizes, and Yandex, who provided game infrastructure servers and bandwidth.

We are still looking for sponsors. Please contact us if you have something that will make this year contest even better.
